Job Description:

The Vice President, Concierge Team Lead has overall accountability to manage a team of Managing Directors within the Core Market. These Managing Directors are responsible for 401(k) client relationships, generally up to $100m in AUA. The Vice President is also responsible for handling a book of key advisor relationships on behalf of the Core Relationship Management group!

The position involves extensive and ongoing client contact with senior-level client decision makers (CFO, CEO, VP of HR, and advisors) of existing customers, placing a premium on executive presence, benefits and financial services acuity, and consultative sales skills. Focus areas of territory management include, client retention and dedication, revenue growth to include cross selling and relationship risk mitigation. Additional management duties include associate development, performance evaluation, compensation planning and hiring.

While managing a book of key advisor partners, the Concierge must also set an appropriate strategy on an advisor-by-advisor basis for optimizing the amount of time required to support each relationship. And to build effective engagement strategies to drive business results. On active new business, or RFP searches for existing clients, the Concierge will work closely with the sales teams and relationship manager teams to develop strategy with a focus on the role and influence of the advisor relationship.

The Expertise You Have
  • The role requires extensive travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • College degree required
  • 5 - 10 years of client-facing, institutional experience required. Previous advisor/consultant relations experience is desirable.
  • Relationship management experience preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Complete series 7, 24 & 63 exams within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong negotiation skills spanning sophisticated financial and service delivery related topics, both internal and client facing
  • Validated ability to navigate and influence executive level business leaders, both internal and client facing across multiple functions and businesses
  • A deep understanding of the advisor marketplace, and what motivates advisors
  • Strong revenue management and overall financial acuity
  • Ability to lead multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, balancing the needs of the plan sponsor, advisor, and the organization.
  • Confirmed leadership, coaching, and career developments skills with a tenured team of professionals
  • Proven consultative sales skills
  • Experienced presentation, meeting management, and communication skills.

The Value You Deliver
  • In cooperation with Core Market Segment Leadership, develop strategy and goals for organization that produce year-over-year profitability with a strong focus on the advisor.
  • Accountable for retention of plan sponsor and advisor relationships, client dedication, and revenue opportunities of assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships (along with MD), including multiple constituencies including HR, Treasury, Legal, and Procurement.
  • Provide leadership and support for all team based client re-pricing, renewal, and competitive rebid activity.
  • Coach and mentor to provide continued career development and evaluate performance.
  • Ensure that team is aligned with all appropriate rules and regulations. For example: review customer correspondence, licensing, sales literature and client presentations.
