Job Description:

The FFIO Technology team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join their team to deliver next generation pricing platforms in the cloud as part of a multiyear pivotal initiative to modernize and improve pricing capabilities. The position is based in Westlake, Texasand will do hands on development and provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior members of the team.

The Role

This role will be senior software engineer of a cloud development team. As a senior developer you will be executing hands on development and interacting with architecture, management and the squad leaders to translate product requirements into cloud technology solutions. You will serve as a mentor to other specialists as we transform the team into a cloud technology team. You will be responsible for design and implementation of technical solutions to achieve business goals for the product offering.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in Java application development
  • 2+ years of Spring Framework experience
  • Basic understanding of Angular framework, or experience with another UI framework
  • Experience with SQL and stored procedures. Oracle database preferred
  • Experience with the following technologies: Spring, myBatis, REST/Web Services, Maven, Typescript, XML, Apache Tomcat, Swagger, Message Queue
  • Experience with UNIX (Linux preferred), with shell scripting preferred
  • Experience in building 12 Factor Cloud Ready apps
  • Experience in CI/CD
  • Preferable knowledge on AWS, EKS
  • Experience with agile programming, Scrum and test-driven development
  • Excellent coding skills in Java.
  • Love to find and solve problems from the engineer and user's perspective.
  • Mentoring and cross training other associates in distributed technologies - Java and Spring Framework as essential to the success of the team.
  • Enjoy working in a team setting and collaborating with your peers as a facilitator, requestor, solutions coordinator, and consultant.
  • Fostering partnership in the spirit of collaboration and commitment within the project team.

  • Defining and ensuring compliance to standards and best practices for development including change management, release management, & source code control

The Team

Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing fund liquidity.
