The Opportunity

This role is responsible IRA account opening and for the resolution of IRA issues and requests.  An IRA Specialist supports the IRA Department to achieve the corporate goals for growth, retention and quality service for the Department.  Candidate will have direct customer contact and must be able to provide superior customer service.

The Work Itself
  • Serves as the primary contact for IRA Account Opening.
  • Responsible for the resolution of IRA requests and completes research needed to resolve issues.
  • Completes filing and file maintenance, both physical and electronic.
  • Interacts with the Customer Call Center, Ally Bank customers, as well as non-customers   
  • Interacts with various departments within operations to remediate customer issues and discover solutions for case resolution.
  • Recommends procedure/policy changes needed to avoid risk to the bank and improve the customer experience.
  • Ensures Ally Bank complies with applicable regulations and statutes
  • Maintains knowledge of Ally Bank’s products and services
  • Completes various reports to management.

The Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years of IRA experience with strong knowledge of IRA rules and regulations.
  • Outstanding customer service, communications and teamwork skills required
  • Knowledge of Ally Bank’s products and services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the organizational structure as well as outsourced partnerships and functions. 
  • Strong working knowledge and ability to utilize multiple systems within the bank.
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based PC skills and Microsoft Office required  
  • Attention to detail is required                                                                                   
  • Ability to multi-task and to effectively process diverse workloads concurrently.
  • Banking operations experience preferable but not necessary
