The Financial Crimes Risk Management group consists of anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, foreign corruption, fraud, and corporate security. Our program is designed to ensure protection of our clients, the U. S. financial system, and our country from illicit actors who exploit banking services with nefarious and criminal intent. Our fraud group protects our clients and Bank from losses while the Bank's physical security team protects our clients, visitors, employees and Bank's monetary and physical assets.

As a Quantitative Analyst - Transaction Monitoring, you'll be responsible for developing analytical solutions for the detection of fraud and money-laundering risk across the First Republic payments and transactions ecosystem. The goal of these solutions is to protect First Republic from money-laundering risks and our customers from fraud losses. In this position, you'll draw on your expertise in Actimize SAM engineering and solution design as well as experience in anti-money laundering typologies and risk within the financial services industry. You'll have the opportunity to take on new challenges, crack tough problems and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, innovative and incredibly fun team.

What you'll do as a Quantitative Analyst - Transaction Monitoring :
  • Lead design, development, and unit testing of anti-money laundering models for both onboarding and ongoing monitoring purposes.
  • Work closely with key business stakeholders across technology functions and the business to ensure solution delivery meets success criteria.
  • Lead ongoing monitoring strategy for the transaction monitoring solutions including: regression testing of projects and BAU releases, data governance, and issue remediation.
  • Communicate key findings and progress within the Bank and to senior stakeholders.
  • Research, explore and enable new quantitative techniques and technologies in data science.
  • Provide thought leadership and embrace emerging industry innovation.

You could be a great fit if you have:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, operations research or the equivalent
  • Proficiency in SQL is required
  • Direct design experience in Actimize SAM solution or comparable transaction monitoring solution; especially qualified if experience includes Scenario Designer proficiency
  • Actimize Certifications (Basic AIS and RCM, AML-SAM Solution Implementation, Scenario Designer, ERCM Advanced Implementation) is a plus
  • Direct experience working for a BSA/AML or regulatory compliance function at a financial institution
  • Familiarity with BSA/AML regulation and industry standards
  • The ability to work in a Linux and Windows environment
  • The ability to learn quickly, adapt and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct meetings and make professional presentations and to explain complex concepts and technical material to nontechnical users
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
