Description

The Instructional Designer will create highly customized and engaging learning deliverables as part of the Learning & Development Team, Lending Strategy Production Support. The core deliverables for this position will include:

  • Onboarding learning content for new hires.
  • Learning workshops, modules and materials that are fully customized to Lending Strategy's unique products, services, systems, processes, procedures and standards.


In addition to creating compelling training programs, the instructional designer will have the ability to incorporate the latest technologies in design and development along with serving in a client facing role to deliver to a target audience. The position reports directly to the Manager of Learning & Development, Lending Strategy Production Support.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize learning methodologies, adult learning theories, instructional design theory, and design thinking to create, design and deliver highly customized learning programs for Lending Strategy's unique products, services, systems, processes, procedures and standards.
  • Design a variety of innovative media-rich and interactive learning components such as interactive videos, infographics, job aids, gamification, simulations, websites, training guides, and technical documentation;
  • Develop visual and media strategy that aims to maximize learner's engagement for a variety of online-supported learning products.
  • Design and develop innovative online learning, making sure that every interaction, every interface element, every click is relevant and meaningful to support culture change and provide memorable experience to the users;
  • Create detailed reference guides to allow clear, user-friendly and highly accurate support to target audience;
  • Proactively and consistently maintain, update and upgrade existing learning and reference materials to ensure continued accuracy and relevance;
  • Work with subject matter experts to assess and identify the learning needs of the target audience. Identify areas of opportunity for the use of technology mediums for content delivery to promote a world-class learning experience.
  • Maintain relationships within Learning & Development, Production Support, stakeholders, leadership and loan teams, and support the project management functions to ensure objectives and timeline are met.
  • Support the Learning & Development Manager with new projects that promotes the team's efficiency with an eventual opportunity to manage projects independently.
  • Facilitate occasional instructor-led and virtual instructor-led learning sessions.


Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required (i.e. multimedia design, adult learning, distance learning, educational technology); advanced degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with team leaders, instructional design staff, subject matter experts, etc.;
  • Demonstrated experience (3 years minimum) in designing, developing, and managing online, blended or other technology-mediated instruction using new technologies for learning experiences (ILT/VILT workshops, digital learning tutorials, etc.);
  • Demonstrated experience with at least two types of digital learning solutions, including, but not limited to: videos, infographics, simulations, audio, microlearning, and games;
  • Demonstrated graphic design, audio/video editing and multimedia capabilities;
  • Proven expertise in the design and development with products such as Camtasia, Articulate 360 or Adobe Creative Cloud suites.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly conceptualize complex issues and translate ideas into concrete results; and
  • Experience in financial lending, products, systems, and/or other related industries.
  • Excels under pressure, in a fast-paced, high-profile work environment
  • Enjoys meeting needs/deadlines of internal and external customers
  • Excellent project management skills within external/internal cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, writing, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
